Alex is a board eligible prosthetist and orthotist serving clients out of the MCOP office in Silver Springs, Maryland and Washington, D.C. His passion for seeing people regain their mobility is what drives him to impact lives daily.
Alex is originally from Germany and speaks both German and Spanish fluently.! He completed his undergraduate degree in Bioengineering at the Imperial College of London. In 2014 while working abroad in Tanzania, Alex gained experience in an O&P clinic and fell in love with the industry and what it stood for: helping others regain their mobility.
Because of this experience, he returned to graduate school and completed the orthotics and prosthetics program at the Baylor College of Medicine. Following the didactic portion, Alex completed six, three-month rotations at various clinics around the US and Ecuador. His passions have led Alex to work with the Range of Motion Project (ROMP) on numerous projects recently. The mission of the organization is to provide sustainable prosthetic care to underserved communities where this service is often hard to find. Alex is proud to represent this organization in his work – feel free to ask him for more information.
Outside of his passion to help people, Alex likes to maintain an active lifestyle. He enjoys spending time outdoors, camping and hiking. He is an avid tennis player and has helped organize standing adaptive tennis programs for amputee clients in the past.
