Lauren is a Certified Prosthetist (BOCP) practicing out of Walter Reed and specializing in high-activity lower limb prosthetics, sports prosthetics, and military-grade prosthetics.
Lauren’s clinical specialties are largely driven by her background. Her focus on serving the prosthetic needs of the military is driven by her experience growing up in a military family. As a former college athlete, Lauren is equally passionate about helping amputees get back to the sports that they love with custom sports prosthetics and training.
Lauren received her undergraduate degree in Pre-Med from Hamilton College in New York state. During her time at Hamilton, she competed on the varsity soccer team and served as a volunteer EMT. These experiences fueled her passion for healthcare and gave Lauren early perspective on trauma and patient care, which continue to serve her well in her clinical practice. Lauren became inspired by the active and athletic side of prosthetic rehabilitation and the balance between engineering and medicine in the prosthetics field during a summer internship at Walter Reed and decided to make the switch to prosthetics from Pre-Med.
Lauren has worked with MCOP since 2012. At MCOP, Lauren currently enjoys having the opportunity to work with the most advanced prosthetic technologies to help veterans achieve their mobility goals. When not at work, Lauren resides in Washington DC and enjoys playing recreational soccer in her spare time.
