Ukrainian Soldier gets a prosthesis donated by MCOP

November 18, 2022

MCOP is happy to announce “Operation Renew Prosthetics” providing care to the most injured Ukrainian amputees. Our first hero has arrived in the nations capital to receive his hip disarticulation prosthesis. We thank our many partners at Brothers Brother Foundation and Future for Ukraine that have helped us create a path forward for the most severely injured amputees. Ukrainian soldier hip disarticulation amputee Oleksandr Chaika is our first participant and thanks to Össur and Ottobock for the donation of parts for his prosthesis, MCOP has now produced his socket and got him up and walking in less than 4 days! Mike Corcoran, CPO and the team at MCOP are donating our time and expertise to a further 5 amputees who will visit our facilities in the coming months.

We were honored to have Senators Chris Van Hollen of Maryland and Tammy Duckworth of Illinois for visiting our prosthetics clinic in Silver Spring, MD.
