The lumbar spine -also known as the “lumbar vertebrae”- is a collection of bones located within the lower back, just underneath the thoracic spine. The primary function of the lumbar spine – or, “the lumbar vertebrae” – is to support the weight of the body and allow for certain types of movements, such as turning around or lifting objects. Fortunately, for some lower spinal and lumbar conditions, lumbosacral support devices can help alleviate pain in the lower back area caused by muscle strains and spasms.
