As an undergraduate student, Eugene Lin’s engineering coursework introduced him to prosthetics, specifically robotic arms. After shadowing a local prosthetist, he knew that patient centered care mixed with hand skills, technology, and art was for him.
Eugene holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park and an M.S. in Prosthetics and Orthotics from the University of Pittsburgh. Before graduate school, he worked as an orthotic fitter for both off-the-shelf and semi-custom braces. Prior to joining MCOP, Eugene worked in pediatric orthotics and completed a residency with a VA hospital, providing inpatient and outpatient care for veterans. He worked with multi-limb amputations, diabetic and vascular wound care, spinal cord injuries, and stroke patients. Eugene also worked at the NIH as a research intern studying movement disorders and ataxia. Now, Eugene works in our Silver Spring location, focusing on lower limb prosthetics. He looks forward to contributing to O&P research in the future.
Eugene currently lives in Potomac, MD. When he is not running, hiking, or biking, he plays badminton and volleyball, reads manga, plays board games, and video games.
