Mindy Runge is a dedicated Certified Prosthetist-Orthotist (CPO) with a passion for helping individuals navigate complex physical challenges. A Chicago native, Mindy was inspired by her family’s multi-generational military service, driving her to focus on the rehabilitation of veterans. Her interest in Prosthetics and Orthotics (O&P) began early, sparked by a close relationship with her piano teacher and family friend, a congenital transradial amputee.
Mindy earned a double degree in Biology and Environmental Studies from Lake Forest College in 2014, before completing a master’s degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics at Northwestern University’s Prosthetics & Orthotics Center (NUPOC). After her studies, she moved to Saint Petersburg, Florida to complete both her Orthotic and Prosthetic residences. She later became dual certified and licensed in the State of Florida where she continued to work post residency. This experience solidified her commitment to serving military veterans, a value rooted in her family’s military legacy.
Looking to grow professionally and expand her clinical experience, Mindy now serves as a CPO at our Silver Spring location. She is dedicated to improving patient outcomes and continually seeks innovative solutions to enhance the capabilities of individuals with limb loss and physical rehabilitation needs. Mindy believes in evidence-based practice and a multidisciplinary approach to patient care to achieve the best patient outcomes.
Outside of work, Mindy enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and biking with her partner Jason and their dog, Bubbles. Her blend of expertise, dedication, and adventurous spirit makes her a valuable asset to our team.
