Barbara is a certified orthotist with over 20 years of tenure at our Milton, MA location. While pursuing her degree in Healthcare Administration from Southern New Hampshire University, Barbara began her career working in an administrative role. She worked for a small orthotics and prosthetics practice where she gained experience in direct patient care in addition to her administrative role. The daily interactions with various patients being treated in her practice caused Barbara to develop a growing interest in the clinical side of the business which ultimately led her to pursue a career in orthotics. Barbara soon thereafter was able to obtain her Certified Orthotist credential from the Board of Certification (BOC).
After obtaining her certification, Barbara began working exclusively in a clinical role at the practice. In her 20+ years here, she gained a great deal of experience in the treatment and fabrication of custom devices for a variety of conditions. Barbara’s experience in the administrative, clinical and technical aspects of the field have allowed her to thrive in the fast-paced and demanding hospital environment.
Currently, Barbara is the clinical practice manager at MCOP Milton. Here, she works closely with staff physicians to treat acute, chronic and post-surgical orthopedic conditions and assists with lower extremity amputee care. In addition to providing orthotic and prosthetic care to local rehab centers, she also consults with physical therapists to treat home-bound patients. Barbara is also a member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists.
Barbara resides in the historic town of Plymouth, MA where she raised her daughter, Meghan and son, Colin. In her spare time, she is usually working on a project around her home, painting or drawing. If she not at home you can usually find her on the Cape spending time with her friends and family.
