Bill was a US Marine Corps Reserve Captain who had visited Ukraine, which is why he sympathizes with both soldiers and Ukraine and came up with the idea of Operation Renew Prosthetics. He also has two degrees from Harvard University and worked in the US House of Representatives for many years and then in the Clinton White House. He was also the coach of the gold medal winning US Olympic team in whitewater canoeing and kayaking and met Mike Corcoran when Mike came to train with Bill’s team prior to them both participating in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. The two are neighbors now.
