A Team of Leading Prosthetists and Orthotists

Meet MCOP's prosthetics and orthotics specialists

Casey Gruber

Certified Prosthetist / Orthotist

Background and Education

Casey Gruber is an ABC board-certified Prosthetist-Orthotist with a strong and diverse clinical foundation. Originally from Maryland, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland, College Park. There, he gained a deep understanding of biomechanics, movement science, and rehabilitation.

He later pursued his Master of Prosthetics and Orthotics (MPO) at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, which further prepared him for a career dedicated to improving lives through mobility.

Discovering the Field

While studying kinesiology, Casey explored several disciplines—including anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics. However, it was the field of prosthetics and orthotics that brought everything together. His hands-on problem-solving skills, combined with a desire to help others, made this path a perfect fit. From that point forward, he knew he wanted to make a meaningful impact in people’s lives.

Professional Experience

After completing his residencies in Portland, Oregon, Casey moved to Denver, Colorado. There, he managed a high-volume prosthetics and orthotics clinic. In addition to clinic work, he helped launch a Mobile Care Unit that brought services directly to underserved communities.

Over the years, Casey has worked in Level 1 trauma centers, inpatient rehab hospitals, and outpatient clinics. As a result, he’s helped everyone from elite athletes to individuals who had not walked in over a decade return to mobility.

Return to Maryland

In the summer of 2025, Casey returned to his home state to join the MCOP Baltimore team. Being closer to family was important, but so was the opportunity to serve the community that raised him. Today, he provides goal-oriented, patient-focused care with a consistent emphasis on quality and innovation. Through empathy and education, he strives to elevate the standard for modern prosthetic care.

Outside the Clinic

When he’s not working, Casey enjoys hiking, birding, and attending live bluegrass shows with his wife, Bea. Their dog often tags along for outdoor adventures, while their three cats hold down the fort at home. Recently, Casey stepped into his newest role—being a proud dad to a baby boy.
