James De La Fleur
Certified Prosthetic Assistant / Certified Prosthetic Technician
James De La Fleur, a native of Anne Arundel County, has been an invaluable member of the MCOP family for over a decade. With 13 years of dedicated service, James has carved out a distinguished career in the field of Prosthetics and Orthotics, steadily advancing through the ranks since his first day with the team.
James graduated from high school in 2008 and initially pursued a degree in Computer Science, setting out on a career path in technology. However, within just a few years, his trajectory would take an unexpected turn. In 2012, his lifelong friend Aaron, who was already a member of the MCOP team, introduced him to the role of Lab Technician at our Silver Spring office. Though James had no prior experience in the field, he quickly adapted, learning the complexities of prosthetics and orthotics.
James’s passion for craftsmanship and fabrication can be traced back to his mother, a crafts enthusiast, and his father, a U.S. Air Force veteran. Inspired by his mother’s love and his father’s commitment to his country, James found a deep sense of purpose in working with individuals and veterans who needed prosthetic care.
In 2016, James earned his Technician Certification, which provided him with the expertise necessary to take on the responsibility of running the Silver Spring lab in 2017. During this time, he honed his proficiency in specialized techniques such as rolled silicone and double-walled devices, further demonstrating his technical acumen and commitment to the craft.
In 2021, James transitioned to the
Annapolis office, where he assumed the role of
Prosthetic Assistant. His dedication to his professional growth culminated in his achievement of a Prosthetic Assistant Certification in 2024. James exemplifies the power of hard work, perseverance, and a commitment to mastering one’s craft. His journey serves as a testament to how determination and passion can lead to personal and professional success in any field.
