A Team of Leading Prosthetists and Orthotists

Meet MCOP's prosthetics and orthotics specialists

Jason Kercher

Certified Prosthetist

Jason is a native of England and became an American citizen in 2014. He spent 10 years in Ohio and has also lived in Kentucky and Tennessee. His introduction into the O&P field was in 2015 where he moved to Florida to work for a quality prosthetics manufacturer.

After spending several years learning about the industry and helping so many patients, he found himself amazed with the field and the resilience of the patients he worked with. While working with prosthetic products, he spent time understanding the fundamentals of alignment and the importance of component selection. He found himself immersed with the clinical aspect and always enjoyed working with patients directly.

Years down the road, he started taking prerequisite classes to be able to go to O&P school in the future. That day came during the Covid pandemic, where he left his job and entered back into school where he emerged with a master’s degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics from IIOP in Tampa Florida. Since then, he has gained valuable experience in the field primarily focusing his efforts on prosthetic patient care and working with all types of amputees. He has worked with 3D printing, scanning, digital modifications, and closely with EMR software which makes him a dynamic and sophisticated prosthetist ready for the ever-changing future.

Jason believes in an evidence-based practice; where he doesn’t mind taking the time to complete outcome measures, product trials, research and development and focusing on the bigger picture regarding his patient’s well-being. It’s important to him that he communicates effectively with honesty, integrity, and determination to help his patient’s goals become a reality. He will listen to the patient’s concerns and develop a treatment plan with them to achieve the most successful outcomes.

In his spare time, Jason likes to take his 12 year old dog, Bubbles (a black, rescue mixed breed from Chattanooga), to do fun things and explore the DVM area. They can often be found hiking trails, being near the water, or finding other outdoor activities to do together.
