Since the summer of ‘18, Jennifer Kelly has helped hundreds of clients while serving as the lead Prosthetic Assistant at our Malta clinic. In addition to providing hands-on assistance for our customers, Jennifer also takes care of all the necessary scheduling, documentation, and other day-to-day essentials to provide proper prosthetic care to over 350 patients.
Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreational Therapy from the University of New Hampshire and then spent time working as a recreational therapist and healthcare recruiter before starting a tenure at a prosthetics company in 2013. She began working with her husband, Charles Kelly, at this time. The two’s career paths have been intertwined since then, leading both to their current positions at MCOP International’s Malta clinic.
It is a rewarding challenge for both as they attempt to bring the island’s prosthetic technologies up to speed to what’s available in the US, while also streamlining prosthetic and orthotic services and accessibility to provide greater consistency of care. Fortunately, they have the help of numerous contractors, technicians, and administrative staff from both Steward Health Care and the Maltese government itself to help MCOPI’s European operations go as efficiently as possible.
In her downtime, Jennifer loves immersing herself in the one-of-a-kind Maltese culture, whether that be through exploring the isle or its sister island of Gozo, or simply indulging in the warm Mediterranean waters. She also has a love of photography and traveling in general, even well beyond the beautiful Subtropical–Mediterranean climate of the Maltese islands.
