Jerry achieved his Bachelor of Health Science degree at La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia as well as his Masters of Prosthetics & Orthotics. While studying nursing, he undertook a residency in an aged care facility that had many residents who were amputees. This sparked his interest in amputee care and rehabilitation, so he moved to Melbourne, changed universities, and completed his master’s degree in Prosthetics & Orthotics.
Prior to working with MCOP, Jerry worked with the Establishment of Freedom Prosthetics in Cairns and Townsville, Australia. He worked with both upper and lower limb prosthetic and orthotic devices, as well as cranial remolding helmets. He later worked with Momentum Sports & Rehabilitation in Canberra Australia where he worked mainly with sports-specific prosthetics and equipment modifications. He has many achievements but is especially proud of his design, development, and distribution of 3K printable designs of prosthetic tools and valves.
Currently, Jerry resides in Malta where he is the Senior Clinical Manager of MCOPI. He grew up in Australia with a strong Maltese influence from his father’s family. He is excited to now live in Malta working at MCOPI and continuing the work of serving the amputee community. Outside of the office, Jerry enjoys exploring his Maltese family roots, learning the history of the islands, and enjoying the culture of Malta. He also enjoys outdoor sports, exercise, kayaking, freediving, rock climbing, hiking, and skiing.
