A Team of Leading Prosthetists and Orthotists

Meet MCOP's prosthetics and orthotics specialists

Michelle Intintoli, CPO

Certified Prosthetist/ Orthotist

Michelle was first exposed to the field of orthotics and prosthetics in an introductory course as an undergraduate at the University of Pittsburgh. After completing her B.S. in Rehabilitation Science there, she went on to earn her M.S. in Prosthetics and Orthotics, also from the University of Pittsburgh.

Michelle completed her residency in both orthotics and prosthetics in Denver, CO. She stayed in Denver to work as a general practitioner for 3 years, even providing custom vests for dogs with absent or spastic forelimbs. She then returned to Philly to focus on upper limb prostheses for the next 5 years. She has shared her expertise on upper limb prosthetic rehab and design in journals such as Disability and Rehabilitation: Assistive Technology and at conferences like the International Association of Rehab Professionals.

Now at MCOP, Michelle travels between the Silver Spring, DC, and Fairfax offices, returning her focus to the general practice of orthotics and lower limb prosthetics. She loves supporting patients’ recoveries, finding creative ways to help them get back to the activities they love.

Originally from the suburbs of Philly, Michelle is excited to return back east for family and cheesesteaks. She is a fervent animal lover, spending her free time volunteering at local animal shelters. When not exploring new hobbies, Michelle loves to travel and experience new cultures, especially authentic foods.
