A Team of Leading Prosthetists and Orthotists

Meet MCOP's prosthetics and orthotics specialists

Sean Wooldridge

Prosthetist-orthotist currently seeing customers in Greenville, South Carolina

Sean has long had a passion for rehabilitation and science, having grown up working for his mother’s Physical Therapy practice in Clinton, NY. His original path was to follow in her footsteps, studying and achieving his Bachelor’s in Health Science from Gettysburg College. It was during his summers working for his mother and shadowing a local Prosthetist in Utica, NY that he narrowed his focus. Sean decided a career in O & P would better align with his interests in technology, biomechanics, rehabilitation, and physics. He attended the University of Hartford Prosthetics and Orthotics program and achieved his Masters of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics (MSPO). During his time at the University of Hartford, Sean conducted research and presented a pilot study titled “Trunk Control in Adolescents with Idiopathic Scoliosis.” From here Sean was selected to be Hanger Clinic’s East Zone Resident at their Resident Primary Training Facility in Albany, NY.

During Sean’s residency program he worked in a variety of treatment environments including outpatient, hospital, spinal clinic and post-operative care. The variation in locations offered him the chance to work with a diverse and complex patient population. Here he honed his skills in the evaluation and fabrication of custom lower limb prosthetics, upper limb, cranial and spinal orthoses. Upon receiving his board ABC Certification in Prosthetics and Orthotics, Sean began work as a Certified Prosthetist/ Orthotist in Raleigh, NC then Washington, DC.

Sean Wooldridge began working for Medical Center Orthotics and Prosthetics in April 2019 as the Clinic Manager of the Washington, DC office. Here he served to establish relationships with local referral sources, physicians treating patients at amputee clinics and rehab facilities throughout the DC area. Most importantly he worked to provide expert care to amputees and residents of the DC community, helping our patients to “Move Forward” with their independence and activities of daily life. Sean is beloved by his patients for his communication, patience in care, and encouragement in building themselves back!

He currently resides in Greenville, SC where he has taken on a new challenge within MCOP. Sean will be the Clinic Manager of MCOP- Greenville, bringing the top-tier MCOP patient care and technologies to Greenville, SC. His expertise in custom transtibial, transfemoral, bilateral amputee, and microprocessor technology will help elevate patients to a new level of independence.

Sean’s interests outside of work include spending time with his fiancé and dog keeping active. They enjoy everything from hiking, traveling, wineries and breweries to attending sporting events and discovering new restaurants (all interests that attracted him to the beautiful city of Greenville.) In the wintertime, Sean can be seen visiting local hockey rinks for pick-up hockey or traveling back to his hometown for their yearly outdoor hockey tournament.
