Alhassan came to MCOP from Ghana, Africa to have custom upper extremity prosthetics devices made. Alhassan lost the use of his arms 5 years ago as a result of traumatic burns to both arms. For the past 5 years Alhassan has been reliant on other people for normal ADL tasks including eating and getting dressed. With the help of the wonderful occupational therapists at Crayola Kids and the expert care he received from Jamie Vandersea, CPO at MCOP, Alhassan has reach some level of independence with eating and dressing and other ADLs.
